My trek into woodworking began at a young age with my grandfather.  Ronald Hawthorne was not so much into teaching actual woodworking techniques as he was teaching how to approach a project.  He instructed in a way of thinking by taking what would be an overwhelming under taking and breaking it down into manageable chunks.  He allowed one to find his own way.

I’m sure that my grandfather would have turned up his nose at a CNC router and 3D printer.  But he would have been proud to see his No.4 hand plane and his set of paring chisels taking prominent positions in my shop.

Most of the stationary tools in the shop are shop built, such as the router table, CNC, sanding table, assembly table, etc.  This allows for full customization of each tool and easy modification for specific projects.
